Looking for answers to common questions about our services? We’ve compiled a list of frequently asked questions to help you better understand our offerings and how we can help you achieve your health and wellness goals. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Our team is always happy to help.
What are your hours?
Hours vary based on your therapist, but our normal business hours are 7am-7pm.
Will I have direct access to my therapist while going through my rehab?
Yes! Our therapists provide you with their personal contact information so that communication is easy! At any point during your rehabilitation process, you will have the ability to directly contact your therapist via email, text, or phone call!
How long are your sessions?
We offer hour-long, one-on-one sessions between the therapist and the patient!
How long is the Initial Evaluation?
The initial evaluation is one hour, and includes talking about the patient’s history, a comprehensive musculoskeletal exam with diagnosis, and exercises to take home! Additionally manual therapy and taping will be included if we find it beneficial to treatment!
Who will I be working with?
Whether you are with a PT or a PTA, we keep our patients with the same therapist each visit. This decreases information being lost in translation during treatment, and helps build a trusting relationship between patient and therapist! Research shows improved patient care with a consistent therapist, which also decreases the number of visits needed.
Do you accept health insurance?
We are a cash-based clinic and do not accept conventional health insurance. We do accept FSA and HSA as forms of payment for services, as well as Auto Insurance (PIP) for patients who have been in a car accident. Our years of experience have taught us that the insurance model does not allow for the level of care we strive to provide.
GWP Physical Therapy provides quality care by giving our patients personalized treatment that is designed to offer the best recovery as quickly as possible. Each patient spends the full hour with a dedicated clinician working through a carefully designed treatment plan. The success of our patients is our primary goal and individual supervised care is the best choice to achieve the healthiest outcome.
What should I wear?
We recommend wearing clothing that is easy to move in. Athletic shirts, pants, and shoes are great ideas!
How often do I need to come in?
Depending on the condition, patients range between 1-2 visits per week. Around the 4th visit, or 4th week of treatment, you will be re-evaluated to note progress and determine future treatment to meet your goals!
Do I need a Doctor referral?
You do not need a doctor’s referral to come for an initial evaluation. However, if therapy is necessary past 30 days, we do require a signed Plan of Care. Following the initial evaluation, we send your Plan of Care to the providers that are a part of your care. We value communication between all providers involved in your wellness and believe it is the best route to a successful therapy journey!
How do I get the best possible outcome?
One or two sessions a week in the clinic is a great place to start. Throughout the therapy process, a home exercise program will be provided to you to be completed between sessions. We do recommend performing your home exercise program as prescribed by your therapist.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
All you need is yourself! If you have received imaging or other tests prior to beginning physical therapy, we do recommend bringing in results to ensure your therapist has everything they need to treat you safely and effectively. Additionally, contact information for other providers that are currently helping treat you is incredibly beneficial. This allows your entire treatment team to be on the same page and communicate about your case to give you the best care possible!
